Please note:  This is NOT a beginning baking or cookie 101 class. You should have some experience with cookies and royal icing before participating (ie. understanding the difference between royal icing consistencies).  

Overview

In this 2 hour class, I’ll be teaching my painting techniques for creating shiny, dimensional effects on this love potion bottle cookie.  We’ll also be doing some minimal piped details and working with a royal icing transfer.  This class will include a prep video to ensure cookies are ready-to-go once the live tutorial begins.  Other info being taught includes:

• Color-blocking and blending

• Royal icing
• Scribe tool / toothpick
• Tipless piping bags
• A variety of paintbrushes, from medium to detail (this set works well)
• A variety of colors (gel food colors or powdered colors are recommended for this class)
  • Pink
  • Purple (or blue)
  • White
  • Grays
  • Black
  • Brown
• Clear alcohol for diluting colors (I prefer vodka)
• Paint palette or plate for mixing colors
• The class workbook will come with a template for hand-cutting this cookie design.  If you’d like to purchase the cutter instead, it’s available here

• A countertop fan for drying paint
• White Poppy Paint
