Inspired to Create: Voluminous Dresses Online Class (Prerecorded)
$66.00
Now that we’re all staying at home and practicing social distancing, it’s the perfect opportunity to master some new skills from the comfort of your own kitchen, at your own pace. Take a break from the rest of the world and join me in creating three dreamy and delicious fashion cookies.
About this class
In this online class, you’ll learn my signature technique for creating voluminous skirt and dress effects using a mixed-media approach to cookie decorating. I’ll be teaching three of my very favorite dress designs: a lacy Audrey Hepburn-inspired number, a tailored suede shirt dress, and a billowy sprinkle-encrusted party dress.
Your purchase includes:
- Lifetime access to the course videos (Please note: this is not a live class)
- A Tips & Tricks video
- Recipes / recipe links
- Downloadable templates for hand-cutting cookies and fondant elements
- Transcripts in both English and Spanish (*these will be available by April 10th)
- An invitation to join my private Facebook group
- I’ll be hosting Office Hours for this exclusive group, and will be available at least once a week to answer questions, provide feedback and help troubleshoot any issues.
Before you Begin
Please note this is a decorating-focused workshop, not a baking class. The downloadable materials include a link to my go-to sugar cookie recipe, as well as my favorite adaptation of the recipe. The package also includes downloadable templates that can be printed and used for hand-cutting these cookie designs. The cookie cutters I used are absolutely not required; however, they are available in our shop (as well as in our class kits) should you wish to purchase them. If you already have dress cookie cutters on-hand, those can certainly be adapted for the class techniques as well.
Prerequisites
Fondant
No prior fondant experience is needed to recreate these designs. I often teach students who haven’t used fondant before, and they always impress me with their finished cookies. That being said, if you’re never worked with fondant before, please be patient with yourself and realize it may take a bit of trial-and-error to master these techniques. The great thing about fondant is it’s a super forgiving material! If you’re not happy with a work-in-progress, just re-knead it and try again.
Royal Icing
Some basic royal icing knowledge is expected for this class. You should have an understanding of “outline consistency” versus “flooding consistency,” as well as very basic piping skills. My royal icing recipe is included in the class downloads.
Supply List
You’ll need the following items in order to recreate the class designs:
